I grew up in a household where every Disney movie was in our drawer, Disney Channel was always on the T.V., and our next trip to Disney World was already on our minds. Since I was born, Disney has always been a big part of my life. I owned multiple stuffed animals of everyone’s favorite characters, t-shirts, and toys.

Walt Disney has always been a huge inspiration to me. He was an entrepreneur, animator, voice actor and film producer. As a kid, he had a liking for art and drawing. At 18, he became a commercial illustrator. He set up Disney Brothers Studio with his brother Roy in 1920. Around this time, he created his first highly successful character, Mickey Mouse, and produced many color films including “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “Dumbo,” and “Bambi.” Walt holds the record for most Academy Awards earned by an individual, having won 22 Oscars from 59 nominations. He was presented with two Golden Globe Special Achievement Awards and an Emmy Award, among other honors. Several of his films are also included in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress. Then, in the 1950’s he opened Disneyland (California) and in 1973 he opened his second amusement park, Disneyworld (Florida.)

His films are incredible and he is an amazing illustrator. He definitely inspires me as a writer and an aspiring artist. Some of my favorite Disney movies have to be the “Toy Story” series, “The Parent Trap,” “Finding Nemo,” “Brave”, “Enchanted,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Lilo and Stitch,” and “Beauty and the Beast.”
