On Black Friday, the minute the clock turns midnight, we push the thankfulness to the back of our minds and line-up at Best Buy at 2 a.m. to get that discounted flat screen or tablet we’ve all been waiting for. We have all heard our fair share of Black Friday stories: the horror stories of people getting trampled in Wal-Mart, shot at Toys-R-Us, mobs of crazed families fighting to steal the best deal–literally. I talked to a few students here at Heritage High School to get some of their crazy Black Friday stories.
Natalie Pedersen- “It was before the sale even started, probably around 3 a.m. outside of Dillard’s. There were a few girls trying to cut in line, and this lady went all ape on them. She didn’t want them to cut in line. She started yelling and I thought she was going to beat them up. It was pretty intense.”
Kendall Lively- “One time my mom was trying to get a DVD at Wal-Mart, and this lady tried to crawl through her legs to get one and scratched and clawed my mom’s arm. She had claw marks.”
Linnea Ryan- “I saw people get into a fight over trampolines at Wal-Mart. There was one left, and they were trying to drag it off someone’s cart onto their own. Particularly funny because these trampolines are several pounds, and those housewives were fighting to get the best deal.”
