Crocs are back in style. The shoe hit stores in 2004, and by 2007, the company was making great sales until the economic crash of 2008 when Crocs were no longer in high demand. Nearly a year later, the company was low on cash and struggling to remain in business. People began to think that the colorful, rubber clogs were no longer stylish.

This summer, Crocs became popular again. Many people started buying them after Post Malone wore white ones during one of his performances on June 1, 2018 at Governors Ball. Kylie Jenner got multiple pairs of Crocs for Christmas and raved about them. This also pushed people to begin buying them again.

Near the end of my eighth grade year, I started to see more and more people sporting the previously neglected shoe. For nearly ten years, Crocs were only seen on infants/toddlers who did not need anything more and middle-aged men who longed for comfortable feet. Why were people my age buying them? I had no idea, but I wanted to see what all of the fuss was about. I am not usually a follower of trends unless I find comfort or joy in whatever it is. My mom could not believe people were suddenly interested in Crocs given she had never understood the fad in the first place. I asked her if she would take me to try on a pair, not because I wanted to be like everyone else or because I needed to be like Post Malone, but because I wanted to know why people wanted to buy these shoes formerly considered ugly. She took me to the store and let me try on a pair. It was unusual at first, but after walking around for a bit, the shoe became more comfortable. I tried on the white ones, not knowing that it was the same color that Post Malone wore. White just goes better with pretty much any outfit, and I usually wear non-colorful clothing and shoes. After realizing how great the shoes were, I decided to buy a pair and with my own money.

Although my mom and my entire family thought that my Crocs were ugly, that did not stop me from wearing them everywhere and showing them off. My white Crocs became my favorite footwear. I wear them with pretty much any of my outfits as long as I am wearing shorts. It is convenient because you can always just slide them on. You can wear them without socks and still be comfortable or you can wear them with socks, which is what I have seen many people do. I thought they might have just been a summer shoe and not many would wear them to school. After the first week of school though, I was proven wrong. I have already worn my Crocs to school multiple times, and so have my friends. I even convinced my family who thought that the shoes were ugly to buy some. While they were in the store looking, I decided to go ahead and buy me another pair as well. I now have two pairs of Crocs, and I do not at all regret buying them. They are comfortable, as well as stylish.
