In 2015, Kanye announced he was planning on running for President of the United States of America in 2020. Recently, he was in an interview with BBC radio host Annie Mac. He talked about pursuing his idea of running for president. One of the things he said during the interview was, “When I talk about the idea of being president, I’m not saying I have any political views. I don’t have views on politics; I just have a view on humanity, on people, on the truth. If there is anything that I can do with my time to somehow make a difference while I’m still alive, I’m all for it.” When people found out he was planning on running, some of them questioned it, but when Trump won the election on November 8, 2016, Twitter went crazy with people posting about Kanye 2020. People were saying that the standards for presidency are low, and Kanye has a chance at running for president. He even has Rihanna saying, “I mean people are voting for Trump. Who wouldn’t vote for Kayne?” She also said that his speech was incredible. Some of the teachers here at Heritage High School also had something to say about voting for Mr. Kanye West if he was a presidential candidate in 2020: Mr. Trobaugh said, “No, I will never vote for Kayne. He is more of an entertainment man then a political man. Trump has played a bigger role in the political world then Kanye. Trump also has dealt with international things, when Kanye really hasn’t.” All Mr. Bruce had to offer was, “NO! A child should have an actual name not a direction” in reference to Mr. West’s choice when naming his child.
