The weekend before last the Legion of Generals were one of twenty schools that traveled to Albertville, Alabama, for the 9th Annual Northeast Alabama Marching Invitational competition. Despite the two-hour trip, the band had an excellent performance. Mr. Wynn was very impressed with the students, and said, “This was our best performance of the year.” The Legion had two third-place finishes and two first-place finishes. First, our Colorguard finished first in their individual competition. Then our Drum Majors also finished first. The Drumline finished third. Band leader Devon Rooks said, “We were all really happy it went the way we expected. As a band, the Legion placed 3rd out of 20 schools that were competing. Senior band member said, “Nobody had any doubts that we would have a bad performance. Everyone believed in each other.”

This past weekend, the Legion traveled to Boaz, Alabama. They just might’ve out done themselves once again. The band finished first in class 5A at the Sand Mountain Marching Competition. Our Colorguard and drum majors also finished in first place. The Legion has been riding high for the past two weeks, and are sure to continue to give great performances.
