Kaya Bradford is a freshman at Heritage High School as well as a member of the General Journal staff. She is a girl with many strong opinions about music, fashion, and life in general. She has been described by her peers as “sparkly,” “smiley,” and even “too loud.” Whether or not you agree with that, it can be agreed that Bradford is definitely one of the Yearbook staff’s most noteworthy members.
One of Bradford’s main interests outside of Journalism is music; she enjoys many different artists and genres. Music has been a major part of her life for years, and it is an important form of self expression for her. Some of the artists she enjoys include McCafferty, Deftones, Lana del Rey, Tyler The Creator, Ke$ha, and Radiohead. She particularly loves Deftones, and has said that she “can’t act normal” when she’s listening to them. She says that she has to fall to her knees in anguish and scream.
Another important aspect of Bradford is her friends and the people she loves. One of Bradford’s main motivations is making people happy; she does her best to make people laugh and to make sure they’re okay. Another motivator of hers is having, as she puts it, “lots of money.” She is currently employed at Park Place Restaurant and takes a lot of pride in making her own money to spend on her purchases. One thing she intends to do with her money is to own a blacked-out 2014 Dodge Challenger, which has been a dream of hers for years.
Besides owning a Challenger, Bradford does not have a clear vision of her path for the future. One thing she is sure of is that she does not want to live alone. “I just can’t do it. I can’t handle scary noises from outside by myself.” Besides this, she doesn’t know where she wants to go in life or what she wants to do and plans to “figure it out later” but doesn’t know exactly when later is.
Overall, Kaya Bradford is an incredibly complex subject, and it takes more than an article to truly know her. She loves music, making her loved ones happy, and is slowly finding her way in life as she continues to make her way through her high school career.
