The game of “Senior Assassin” has become a popular tradition in many high schools as a way for the graduating seniors to have a bit of fun and create lasting memories before they part ways for college and other adventures. This is the first year Heritage High School has done it, and this was sparked by Journalism’s very own senior, Briley Simpson. “I saw it all over Tiktok, and realized our school hadn’t done one,” she explained. “I thought it would be really fun, and I knew a lot of people would want to participate.”
The game starts with seniors pooling money together to win it all. Players can use any form of water bottle to eliminate a target; most use a water gun. After being assigned a target, their assassin has five days to eliminate them; if they eliminate their target, they inherit that person’s target. If they don’t get them in the amount of time given, then they are eliminated. Senior Owen Gebelein said, “Senior Assassin has been really fun so far; I’ve gotten two people out. I think Cadence Greven will win because she doesn’t ever take her goggles off, and she always keeps them on her.” At the end of Senior Assassin, whoever is last in the game wins all the money that was donated towards the game.
