Mr. James Gribben is among the cast of new staff members at Heritage for the 2024-2025 school year. He moved to this area with his family in 2022 because his wife, who is from the Woodstation area, wanted to return to her roots. Before his relocation, he lived in Carroll County where he taught at Temple Middle School for two years, then at Villa Rica High School for another two years. In 2022, after his move, he taught at Southeast Whitfield High school for a year before working in the Catoosa Gateway Program for the past year. Now, he has replaced Mr. Carter as one of our Here to Career teachers.
Mr. Gribben says that he got into teaching because he originally wanted to begin coaching, and teaching became coaching inside the classroom for him. So, whenever he isn’t going to be in the classroom, he’ll be helping Coach Elkins with the Girls’ Basketball team. “I’m really excited about the basketball season too. We should have a pretty good basketball season this year,” he explained.
Mr. Gribben is greatly looking forward to settling in and becoming a part of a new academic community. “It’s a lot different than Southeast. I think the community is really tight and really close. The parents are really involved too, which is good, and I think there’s high expectations set here.”
Overall, Mr. Gribben has received quite the warm welcome to the school and is eager to become a successful addition to our family here at Heritage.
