Basketball season is coming up in November, only a couple months away. Heritage students have so much to say about what’s going to happen this season. Most of the team have high expectations for this year.
Junior Noah Awotula said, “My goals for the upcoming season are to start and to make it to regions and win.” Awotula also explained he hoped to keep his shots consistent and keep practicing them to make this year a better year then last year. Junior Cayden Lowrey says his goals for this year are to “win more games than last year and win [their] first game at state.” Lowrey also said, “This year I want to take more sacrifices for the team than I did last year.”
Junior Blake Debity said, “My goal for this coming season is to have a winning record.” Debity also hopes to trust his teammates more than last year. The boys said that their biggest opponents this year are LFO, Ringgold, and Calhoun. One of our varsity assistant coaches, Coach Jeff Green, gave his opinion on what he thought this year will be like. Commenting on his expectations for the team this year, Coach Green said, “A lot of the players played last year, so we’re hoping that they’re going to play well enough to get us back into the state tournament and do well in the region.” He also agreed that Calhoun, Adairsville, LFO and Ringgold are all good schools that will be a hard opponent.
