In the Heritage High School community, students were filled with excitement as they prepared for Homecoming festivities. Among the candidates for the Homecoming Queen is Inae Kim, a senior who is known for her dedication in band as the head drum major. She is passionate and appreciates being a part of the band.
Kim is a member of the Tea Club and is involved in the Partner’s Club, where she enjoys meeting with her partner daily. This has made a significant impact on improving her relationships with her peers and the school community. Her peers from the band are the main reason Kim ran for Homecoming Queen. She said, “Well, I wasn’t planning on running, but I guess the band kids had different plans for me.” She continued, “I guess I just wanted to also be on the court, and just like to wear a pretty dress with my friends, and enjoy the moment” Her peers describe her as a compassionate friend and a dedicated student.
In addition to her extracurricular activities, Kim has excelled in her academics and maintains a strong GPA while balancing her own personal life. In her academic life, Kim has said her teachers and friends are her biggest role models. Explaining how they have influenced her, Kim said, “Without my teachers, I wouldn’t be like the person I am, academically and also leadership-wise” Her band director, Mr. Wynn, has especially helped her be economically successful and the type of person she is today.
As she prepared for the pivotal moment, Kim still continues to be the nice person she is. Whether or not she was crowned Homecoming Queen, she would be a person that would like to help others as she can, whether it’s relating to band, school, or work.
