Fall break is a national tradition that happens in either September or October, providing students an academic break so they can spend time with their family and friends. Heritage sophomore Dj Solomon said, “I think the reason we get a fall break is because it’s really close to a holiday, and it’s the end of the first nine weeks, so it’s good for students and teachers to reset their mind for a week.” Fall break is also good because it gives the teachers a break and more time to put in grades that they might be behind on, and test grades they might have not put in the students’ Infinite Campus.
This year’s fall break was a good one because of the range of warm weather in the afternoon and cold weather in the night and morning. A lot of people like fall break because they can get extra sleep and stay up all night. When being asked how students spent their fall break time off, Gage Perkey, said, “I slept a lot and spent time with friends and family.” It’s cool that we have fall break, while some other schools don’t, because it’s good for both the students and teachers of the school.
Explaining what he did over fall break, sophomore Ty Sims said, “I mainly just spent my time at home playing [games on] my Xbox and PC with my friends and just getting some extra sleep.” Sims is a perfect example of how to spend your time off on break as a teen. Fall break is a good time to spend outdoors; it’s not hot or cold, so you can go swimming, play football, go running, or even go play basketball. Fall break is a great way to give students and teachers a week to take their minds off of school.
