Whoosh, the plane takes off with a seven hour ride ahead of them, the people aboard ready to leave from what they have called home to explore a new place. The plane lands on new soil in the United States of America with the people aboard ready to see what the country is about. As Bella Miller and her mom get off the airplane and enter the airport, they are filled with emotions, ready to start a new life away from Costa Rica.
Commenting on the move from Costa Rica to the USA, Miller’s mom said, “We moved because I wanted to give Bella better opportunities and to be closer with family.” She continued, “I was nervous about moving alone, because it was a big place with a newborn, and it was just me and Bella.” Miller was only 14 months old when she moved, she didn’t know what was going on, and didn’t realize how moving would change and affect her life.
Miller is currently 16-years-old, and in her junior year of high school. She babysits at Rock Bridge. Miller has a special love for kids, and hopes to make a difference in their lives. She likes how babysitting gives her an opportunity to increase her patience, and teach kids how to grow up in a righteous way. Miller is considering working at Choo Choo’s Barbeque, because her friends here in Journalism want her to work with them.
One of Miller’s friends, Sophie Moore, who has been her friend since 7th grade commented on her favorite memory with Miller said, “One of my favorite memories with Bella is when we almost crashed when we were going to get ice cream.” Moore said “She gives me a bunch of good advice all the time.” Moore also said that Miller is different from her other friends because she is super funny and she is a day one. Moore values Miller’s friendship very much, she said, “Bella is very adventurous, and helps me try new things.” Moore also said she has no doubt that Miller will succeed here at heritage and hopefully make a difference in our school.
