On October 29, 2024, CTAE hosted their annual Spooky Movie Night. Although only around 5-50 kids were expected to show up, it didn’t make the night any less special for those of who attended. The event ran from 6:30-8:30, and was located at the school greenhouse.
“We cook out, we have a movie, we play games, and they get to meet people from other clubs,” said the hostess of the event, HOSA sponsor Mrs. Shannon Henley. “It’s just a fun get-together.”
This event, unlike others, was free to anyone and was open to many clubs. FCCLA, skillsUSA, HOSA, and FFA were all in attendance. Students who weren’t in clubs were also allowed to attend, which was a refreshing change from other events they’ve hosted in the past.
The event was a hit with all of the guests, and despite the small attendance list, everyone went home with a smile on their faces that day. “I would rate it a 9/10. it was really fun.” Bryleigh Henderson, a sophomore FCCLA officer, said.
Some of the events they had hosted were ax throwing, pumpkin carving, and cornhole games for those who didn’t want to watch the movie. The movie chosen this year was “Beetlejuice,” a seasonal movie that people watch every year.
Overall, the night was a hit, and this event will likely continue to be hosted for many more years to come. It’s already been a decade since they started the event, what’s a decade more?
