2Hollis is an underground artist in the electronic-hyperpop scene. He’s grown rapidly throughout the past year, with TikTok and Instagram launching his career from niche to one of the most popular artists in his field. He currently sits at 902.8K monthly listeners on Spotify, and his most popular song, “Jeans,” has 11 million streams. 2Hollis has had some controversy in the underground, some people claiming he is an “industry plant,” as he was an apprentice to the very popular artist, Skrillex. Despite the slight conflict, 2Hollis’ platform is still growing.
Nate Sib is an insanely talented and underrated artist in the same scene as 2Hollis. He currently has 407.9K monthly listeners, with his most popular solo song, “Famous,” having 1,052,368 streams. He has a very unique sound, many people call him the “2000’s Justin Bieber” of the underground scene. As of lately he’s been propelled into the spotlight after starting to tour with 2Hollis, as well as streaming and posting on Instagram together.
2Hollis went live on Instagram on the 24th of January, and played the entirety of a song featuring Sib. The unreleased track is called “Afraid,” and was released on January 30th, 2025. The track is almost thee minutes long, and is spectacular. The song was produced by the both of them, rather than an outside producer.
As someone who loves the both of them, this track was highly anticipated. The song is very upbeat, the beat itself is very unique, with an electronic sound. 2Hollis’ vocals are similar to his vocals on his 2023 album, “2,” which is definitely some of his best work. Everyone adored Nate’s verse as well, the distortion, and production they used on his vocals make it fit in very well with 2Hollis’ sound and the beat. However, Nate definitely has a different sound than 2Hollis; his voice is more melodic and focused on his vocals, while 2Hollis relies more on his production to get his specific sound.
Either way, the two absolutely crushed this track, it’s practically been on loop since it dropped. It’s very exciting to see where this duo ends up going, especially if Nate continues to tour with 2Hollis. Everyoneis hoping for them to collaborate with Damon R. It would be extremely interesting, and quite noticeable that Damon and Nate’s vocals would compliment each other for sure.
