On April 19th, Heritage held its annual Prom at The Westin Hotel in Chattanooga. The dance began at 7 P.M. and carried on until 11 P.M. The theme was “Mystique Masquerade,” and our generals dressed to impress. Tickets went on sale before spring break for $75, and continued being sold after the break for $85. This dance has been being planned for a long time, and turned out to be a great success.

The students who attended this year’s Prom had very positive things to say about it. Senior Hannah Karson said that she had an amazing time this year, she even claimed that it toped last year’s Prom. “This Prom was an extremely fun and memorable way to end off my senior year,” Karson said. During the eventful dancing students had the abilty to vote for Prom King and Queen. Midway through the night it was announced that seniors Maddox Henry and Jenna Ryans were the chosen couple. They danced together surrounded by cheering peers. Most everyone who attended Prom this year had nothing but good things to say about it.
The junior class officers played a big role in planning Prom this year. The junior class president, Landon Hoover, and his fellow officers had free reign on the Prom theme, food, decorations, the DJ, and planning overall. “The masquerade theme was Kennedy Chapman’s idea,” Hoover said. “We were going for a classier theme and it just came to mind.” As well as many themed decorations, masquerade masks were offered to students during the dance. The Westin Hotel catered for the dance, offering many different kinds of finger foods like chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks.
Overall, aside from a few small controversies such as the air conditioning and the music, Prom was a huge success this year. A lot of people worked very hard to make this happen and all of their hard work resulted in another amazing Prom. Amazing job to the staff and students who helped make this possible!
