It is more than just changing schools. Tatum Dupree is a 15-year-old 10th grader who recently moved to Heritage High School. Before Heritage she was at Northwest high school and just wanted a change of things so decided to move to Heritage. “I wanted a change and I believe Heritage was definitely the right choice.” Tatum said. She chose Heritage because everybody had only good things to say about the school. She wanted to experience the great environment, teachers, the amazing students, and to simply be a General.
Tatum does not want to be just a regular student. At Heritage, she plans to be a member of any club she can. Clubs she has heard of that she is interested in are Beta Club, National Honor Society, and Partners club. She also is a very good cheerleader who wants to join Heritage’s cheer team. Not only does she do school cheer, but she is on a Stingrays All-star team out of Marietta, Ga. This is a competition cheerleading team that practices year-round and travels all over the country to different competitions. She is going to use her skills to help out in any way she can.
Even though she is a student-athlete, she believes student comes first. She is an all A and B student who loves challenging herself. She puts herself into as many honors classes as possible and is a very hard worker. At Heritage, she is taking Journalism and intro to Health. After high school she wants to be a nurse, which is the reason for taking Health classes. She has heard that Journalism is a very fun and exciting class which is why she wanted to take it.
One of Tatum’s very close friends at Heritage is Baylee Lyons. “Just being in the presence of Tatum can make your day. She is always in a great mood and lightens up everyone around her. She is a very funny person with good jokes. I am so happy she decided to move to Heritage and join the cheer team.” said Lyons, who has always been Tatum’s friend since they were kids.
She is kind to everyone around her and gives compliments to make peoples days. This shows how she was as a person at Northwest and who she wants to be at Heritage. Tatum is excited to make many new relationships at Heritage. She is very excited for her very first year at Heritage and can not wait to see what this year holds.
