The Legion of Generals are tuning up for what promises to be an exciting year. On August 23rd, 2025, they had an event called “Lunch with the Legion of Generals”. It was an all-day practice, as well as a performance for the parents and lunch from Chick-fil-A, paid for by the band. This allowed the band to preview their show to parents, as well as work out any kinks they may have had, while still having fun and socializing with their friends. “It was a good time, I think we learned a lot that day. We got a lot of the drill down, so I think it’s definitely a big step for the band,” said Raelynn Bryson, a trumpet player in the band.
The band’s creative direction focuses on music that embodies the color blue, which are visually represented through coordinated color schemes, flags, and other visual elements. The current favorite performance out of the songs they play is the opener, featuring a flugelhorn solo. It’s a standout piece named “Monsieur Spade”, inspired by the soundtrack of a french television series, which really stood out to the band’s director, Mr. Bill Wynn. “It’s actually the only song in the lineup that doesn’t have blue in the title,” he said, “but it’s the bluest sounding song that we have.”
The band has a series of significant events and competitions on the horizon; looking ahead, the band’s competition schedule has been packed with opportunities to showcase their talent and hard work. The schedule includes Clinch River classic in Clinton, Tennessee on September 20th, Bradley Central Classic on September 27th, where they plan to defend their Grand Champions title, and Northwest Georgia Carpet Classic at Northwest Whitfield in Tunnel Hill on October 4th. They’re extremely dedicated to what they do, and they plan to extend their 4-year competition streak.
