Pep rally season is upon us! This first semester of the 25-26 school year will be filled with Friday Night Lights, screaming student sections, and Taj spirit. The first pep rally was a hit, reminding us once again to keep energy high and keep fighting for the spirit stick.
Starting off with the freshmen, whose theme was Inside Out. The freshman class president, Viven Kwon, talked about her expectations for the pep rally. Regarding the freshman pep rally dress code, Kwon said “They should dress up as Inside Out characters, or in the colors of the characters.”
The sophomores brought their spirit with the theme Mr. Clean. Chance Beene, the sophomore class president, explaining how people should dress according to the theme, said, “White T-shirts, white sweatpants, or white shorts. Basically all white.” They originally were supposed to have the theme ghosts, but they decided to change it last minute. Sophomores ended up winning best theme with Mr. Clean.
Next up, the juniors, whose theme was double denim. Caleb Peponis is the president of the junior class. On the basis of the dress code for the pep rally, Peponis said, “Basically just wear denim, put it on, and if you don’t have denim, just a blue top is fine.”
Seniors pulled through and won the spirit stick. They had the theme Mission Impossible, and senior president Landon Hoover said, “You can dress up as all black. If you have them then wear sunglasses, beanies, ear pieces, or like little name tags.” Overall, every grade brought their spirit for the first pep rally!
For our pep rally during rival week, every class had great themes and extra spirit! The freshmen showed out with the theme Cowboys/western, the sophomores theme was birthday, juniors had a golf theme, and finally seniors won best theme with Teen Beach. Not only did the seniors win best theme, they also won the spirit stick! Be ready to bring your full spirit for all future pep rallies!
