In the fall of 2025, the HHS flag football team kicks off season 2 of what they hope will be many. During the 2024 season, the team had a winning total of 10 wins to 8 losses. In the 2025 season, they hope to improve and build off of the progress they made last season.
The team is led by Coach Alan Broom, captained by Addi Dills and Jaida Marsh, and is composed of 29 girls.
In the 2024 season, the team “had a great vibe,” according to Broom. In the 2025 season, the team is looking forward to playing and growing as a team, as well as what they hope to be a large audience.
“I really like the community that we built, like a strong sisterhood,” said Dills. “That’s what our values are based on, sisterhood and just how tight we’ve become, even though all of us are so different.. It’s the one thing that brings us all together.”
Dills initiated the creation of the team during the 2023-2024 school year because she “thought it would be a good opportunity for girls who don’t really play a fall sport.
As far as strengths, Dills believes that their strengths lie in communication, saying, “I think we’re really good at communicating, and we all get along very well. Everyone’s very open to helping everyone else and supporting each other.”
When it comes to weaknesses, Coach Broom believes that their problems are in the “details, details, details.” Dills on the other hand thinks that their problem could be that they are “very young right now, but that might turn into a good thing.”
This year, despite the team’s age, the HHS flag football team has the potential to make this year great. If they build off of the strengths they have, and work on the “details, details, details”, this could turn into another good season.
