Chris Reeves is one of our many new staff members for the HHS 25-26 school year. Reeves describes his job at HHS as teaching Social Studies for Special Education. Reeves further explains his reasoning for coming here was the outlook of Heritage. He stated he was appreciative of the school’s friendly environment and culture. Reeves also mentioned his eagerness to get to know the school better.
“When searching, this school stuck out above all of the others,” said Reeves.
Before teaching, Reeves attended Oregon State University and the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Reeves mentioned having wanted to pursue education since he could remember. Therefore, after his college years, he moved on to teaching at Redmond High School in Oregon. Reeves taught at the school for three years up until last year when he and his wife moved south to Chattanooga, TN.
Reeves explained how the process of coming to Heritage was. He stated how the school stood out to him over the other ones. He further explained how Mr. Phillips set up an interview with him, and he was more than pleased to accept the offer. Reeves feels HHS has great students and staff members compared to Redmond.
Reeves first thought when he saw the school was that it looked like a hospitable school. Luckily, Reeves values HHS so eternally that he has no negative feelings or points on it. One thing Reeves claims students might be surprised to learn is that he was in the military for ten years before pursuing teaching. “I have a great feeling this school will bring many opportunities and I can’t wait to see them,” said Reeves. Reeves cherishes his position here and is beyond excited to continue his journey.
