The album “Alienation” by Three Days Grace was released August 22nd, 2025. This album, unlike many nowadays, has many different stories being told with each song. Songs on this album like “Don’t Wanna Go Home Tonight” and “Never Ordinary” focus on positive and motivating story lines. This album focuses on topics of struggles with addiction, recognizing and overcoming that addiction, mistreatment, strong relationships, not fitting in, and embracing your differences. The main theme in this album seems to be a recurring mention of what seems like a void, that nothing can fill. This album’s structure, I would say, is emotionally charged, focusing on telling many stories, most that will tug on your heart strings.
This album, like some other albums by Three Days Grace, is both amped and relaxed, with a mix of both for each song. Each song is uniquely made. Even so, some soundtracks do sound similar to each other on this album, which makes me wish there was some clear correlation between those songs. There are quite a few pauses in these songs as well, but that can be overlooked as a way to give your brain a moment to process the heavy lyrics.
This album does well with hitting touchy subjects people can relate to without making it seem as if it’s something to dwell on. Some of the songs on this album are more relaxed and heartfelt, but not mopey to the point you’d want to turn it off. This album sets apart from other artist’s albums hitting touchy subjects. Most albums by other artists who discuss these things describe it as a thing to dwell on, making it seem like there are no new beginnings and that there’s no way to push forward.
Three Days Grace in general is a good band recommendation for people who like variety in one band (relaxed, amped, smooth, energetic, chaotic, relatable, etc.). Most of the music they make is to uplift people struggling with a variety of things or to bring unity to people. This album in particular would be perfect for people struggling with overcoming addiction, struggling with fitting in, or missing someone. Three Days Grace’s music is meant for everyone, and everyone should experience listening to them at least once.
