LOUD AND PROUD

LOUD+AND+PROUD

As you probably know, the show Lip Sync Battle is increasing in popularity. The show is coined off of the idea from Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. You may remember the episode with Emma Stone and Jimmy Fallon facing off. If you don’t, you should really look it up because it’s one of the best performances I’ve ever seen in my life.

I learned of Lip Sync Battle after seeing an excerpt of it on Twitter. Emily Blunt and Anne Hathaway were going head-to-head for the trophy. Hathaway was syncing to “Wrecking Ball,” complete with creepy sledge hammer licking, a mini wrecking ball, and, of course, tightie whities. Suffice it to say, the show is very interesting. The other morning, I saw another great competition between Anna Kendrick and the show’s producer, John Krasinski. Krasinski pulled out some classic Tina Turner, while Kendrick went for a little J. Lo . . . who actually made a guest appearance to help Kendrick guarantee her first place win.

This show is definitely one to see if you enjoy watching people occasionally make fools of themselves for the good of music. I me . . . Krasinski pulled a flapper girl dress out for “Proud Mary.” If that’s not dedication, then I don’t know what is. This show is not a waste of time, contrary to what my parents may say . . . It’s filled with hilarious banter between the contestants, and it’s not actually that inappropriate (which is kind of hard to find). I say give it a whirl, and then if you hate it, well at least you got to see a grown man wearing a reflective silver dress.
