The Loch Ness monster is one of the more famous cryptids. It is more widely known that any other water cryptid. There are a lot of cryptid like Nessie. A cryptid is an animal or plant whose existence has been suggested but has not been discovered or documented by the scientific community. The Loch Ness monster is categorized as a cryptid. The Loch Ness monster reportedly lives in the Loch Ness, a lake in the Scottish highlands. It was first brought to the world’s attention in 1933. Loch Ness has been called Nessie since 1934. The first “photograph” of the Nessie was published in The Daily Mail 85 years ago on April 21, 1934. Supposedly the photograph was taken by Robert Kenneth Wilson. The photograph was nicknamed the “Surgeon’s Photograph.” The photograph was revealed to be a fake by the Sunday Telegraph in 1975, but there may be proof that the one and only Nessie may have been discovered.

Google has recently joined in on the search to find the Loch Ness monster. Google spent a week taking its 40-pound street view “Trekker” cameras around the perimeter of the Loch. They also attached the cameras to a boat to get above water pictures. According to Google, there are about 200,000 searches each month for the Loch Ness Monster, yet very few people know what the Loch Ness monster looks like, or if it even is real.
