Congratulations to the boys’ and girls’ track team members on making it to State! The girls were region champs and the boys were runner-up. Raleigh Lewis was first region champ in girls’ discus with a throw of 105-00 and shot with a throw of 32-5.5, both of which are new school records. Brittany Richardson placed first in girls’ long jump with a jump of 15-11.50 and in the high jump with a jump of 5’2″. Emily Poole placed first in 1600, with a time of 5:34, setting a new school record. She also made a new school record in the 3200 with a time of 11:50.19. Sarah Buckler placed second in the 1600 meter and set a new school record in the 800 meter with a time of 2:26.84.

The top 4 qualify for sectionals and include: Madison Gray- fourth place in triple jump with a jump of 30-04, Khalyahl Hood- second place in long jump with a jump of 20-04.50, Jonathan Edwards- fourth place in pole vault with a jump of 10-06, Alex Gass- second place in 3200 with a time of 12:23.59, Brittany Richardson-second place in 200 with a time of 28.23, The 4 x 400 relay team of Emily Poole, Sarah Buckler, Brittany Richardson, and Noor Sabeeh placed second with a time of 4:22.84, Khalyahl Hood-third place in 100 with a time of 11.62, David Buckler-fourth place in 200 with a time of 23.81, Ryan Gebelein- second place in the 3200 with a time of 10:06.92, Logan Nave- third in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.14, The 4 x 100 relay team of Khalyahl Hood, Lavarius Hood, David Besh, and David Buckler placed second with a time of 44.30. The team will head to sectionals in Jefferson, Georgia, this weekend and the top four who win at sectionals will travel to State in Carrolton, Georgia.
