On Sunday, May 3, the FCA chapter over our area awarded our very own Kaitlin Kibble with one of their best awards. Kibble was the recipient of the “Athlete of the Year” award, given to an athlete who shows incredible determination and a willingness to serve Christ through everything they do on a daily basis. Kibble won the award not only for her athletic ability, but for her character during and away from sports. Out of Catoosa, Chatooga, Walker, and Dade counties– including eight schools–Kibble stood out above everyone else.

“I am very honored to have been chosen for this award. It was totally unexpected and I just feel like I couldn’t be given this award without the help of my FCA huddle coaches and leadership team,” Kibble stated. “God has definitely been with me every step of the way, and I know that I would not be where I am today with His love for me.”

As someone who has been with her since the beginning of my time on this staff, I believe I speak for many when I say that her award is extremely well-deserved. Her work-ethic is unmatched, and she shows a Christian approach to her everyday life. From everyone here at the General Journal, congratulations, Kaitlin!
