Michael Gira is at it again with the recent announcement of the final Swans record for the band’s current iteration. To compensate for the cost of recording, the band has decided to put out a two-disk live album entitled “The Gate.” In a similar vein as “We Rose From Your Bed With The Sun In Our Heads,” this live album will contain rough recordings of the new tracks that will be featured on the new record. The album will come packaged in a cardboard digipak, with the cover being a linoleum slab. The slab has many personalization options that come at a higher price than the flat rate of $44.99 for the standard edition of the record. All copies will be hand signed by Michael Gira, and will ship around the first of October.
