GREEN GOBBLIN’

Thanksgiving is next week, Generals. A time of getting together, giving thanks, eating good food, and popping pants. With Thanksgiving being right around the corner, Heritage is having their annual “Thank a Teacher” turkey feather contest. I’m here to give you further information on what’s to come this week here at Heritage.

The contest will begin on Monday, November 16, and will continue through Friday, November 20. This contest is sponsored by FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) which gives students a chance to express their appreciation to each of their teachers for the hard work they put forth.

If you are thinking about purchasing a feather from any of he FCCLA members in front of the Media Center or from Mrs. Cooper (the club sponsor) in room 2224, the feathers are twenty-five cents each. Proceeds from this contest will be used to purchase Christmas gifts for children in the community.

On Friday, November 13, FCCLA members hung turkeys on each of the teachers’ doors. The purchased turkey feathers will be delivered during first block (also after lunch on Friday) and will be attached on your turkey. So students, be keeping in mind which teacher you want to thank, for “thank a teacher” week; I’m sure the teacher will be happy to see you care for them.

Also, the teacher who receives the most feathers by the end of lunch on Friday, will be crowned “The Biggest Turkey” at HHS, and will win a turkey at the end of the day Friday. So start “thanking,” Generals. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
