With winter sports in full swing now, that means that wrestling is killing it like always. The team recently traveled east of Atlanta to East Paulding High School for The Cross Bone Dual. The tournament had five teams: East Paulding, Chapel Hill, Adairsville, Lafayette, and our very own Generals. This year the team won first place, which is a big improvement from last year when they got fourth place.

Many of the wrestlers went undefeated in the tournament including Ryan Craft, Chuckie Thurman, Seth Ingle, Cameron Stooksbury, Zaine Burton, Jefferey Curtis, and Tanner Nance. After gaining a newbie, Tanner Nance, everyone had a feeling that the team would have a great season, and it seemed as though they were right. The Cross Bone Dual was the Generals third tournament win this season. Their record stands as 16-1, and if that doesn’t impress you then I don’t know what will. They have a returning state champion in 132 pounds, Chuckie Thurman, and many strong football players that can and will help the team out the rest of the season. I have to say, this year’s freshman class has some real athletic ability in every sport that Heritage offers especially wrestling.  This team looks to have a promising season, and I’m sure they will impress us all. The wrestling team has another tournament the December 18 and 19 at McCallie, and I suggest you go watch them.
