5 HIGHLIGHTS FOR A 10/10 SHOW
April 12, 2016
As some may know, this past Saturday, April 9, the 25th annual MTV Movie Awards were held in Burbank, California, and aired Sunday, April 10, in order to honor the biggest films and performances of the year. This year’s awards show provided several highlights and I felt the need to provide a few of my favorites:
- The hosts themselves: Kevin Hart and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. I think that whoever chose them did a wonderful job because they are both full of a very comedic personality and I think that they were simply perfect for this specific awards show.
- Actor Will Smith received and accepted the MTV Generation from actresses Halle Berry and Queen Latifah.
- Melissa Mcarthy acted in a way that perfectly portrayed the award she received: crowd surfing up to the stage to accept the Comedic Genius Award. Not to mention, she is the first woman to win this award, which I think is pretty awesome for her.
- Anna Kendrick, Adam DeVine, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow and Chrissie Fit received the Best Ensemble Cast for the film, “Pitch Perfect 2” and I think many were very happy with this achievement for this family-like cast.
- And speaking of “Pitch Perfect 2,” another award that was given to this film was one that many have been talking about ever since the awards show aired. Rebel Wilson and Adam DeVine accepted the Best Kiss Award from the movie and proceeded to demonstrate the reason for receiving this award. I will just do you a favor and leave it at that rather than going into any more detail.
Even though this list may seem short, fear not because it will be continued with another five highlights in our May edition of the “General Journal” once it goes on sale. If you can’t bear to wait this long, however, I understand. I would encourage anyone looking for an entertaining awards show full of sentimental, hilarious and shocking, at times, performances, to find an airing of the MTV Movie Awards for 2016, sit back, and watch your favorites actors, actresses and other celebs receive the awards they deserve.
