EDITORIAL: BLACK AT IT AGAIN

I love going Black Friday shopping because I love going shopping, and when stores have discounts it is even better. Stores are supposed to have great deals on Black Friday, but there are a lot of stores that do not, at least in Hamilton Place Mall. Some years my family and I go to big outlets or malls in Atlanta because they have better deals.  The downside of it is that there are a lot of people, and my mom hates crowded places.  I on the other hand love crowded places. It adds excitement to shopping. I can feel the adrenaline in my veins when I’m looking for a specific size. I do not think I would ever fight someone for a good deal. There is always a first time for everything, right?

My favorite stores at Hamilton Place are Hollister, Sephora, American Eagle, PINK, Victoria’s Secret, Forever 21, Bath & Body Works, and Express. They didn’t have more than 40 percent off this Black Friday. Some big retail stores like Belk, Dillard’s, and JC Penny have really good deals; some of their stuff was up to 80 percent off. I got a pair of boots that were originally priced at $120 and got them for 27.99

Although I don’t shop for clothes at Wal-Mart, they do have huge discounts on electronics.  I bought the Phantom 3 for 300 dollars. It might sound like a lot of money, but on Amazon and eBay they are priced at over 500 dollars. I don’t think I’m ever going to use it or get out of it as much as other people would. I decided to it sell online. Right now it is selling for $450.

As much as I love shopping, I don’t think that it’s right that people leave their families so they can go shopping. I think it would be best if they had Black Friday on a Friday night and not a Thursday night. This year I thought it was a great idea that Hamilton Place opened on Friday and not Thursday night; although big retail stores still did.
