EDITORIAL: MY SECOND FAMILY

Hope Clayton, Staff Writer

This past school year I decided to try something new, color guard. I figured it would be something I would enjoy, but I never expected to love it as much as I do now. Our show theme for 2016 was “The Greatest of These Is Love”. It was such a beautiful show, and I am so honored to have been a part of it. One of the great things about being in the Legion of Generals is that we all treat each other like family. Sure, sometimes we get upset and angry at someone, but at the end of the day we are one. I always know that if I am feeling down or I need someone, I can always turn to my band family. I think that is something realy special to have in my life. I also got to make so many new friends.

There were 38 guard members this season, and I am so blessed to have had them in my life. Each of them have helped me grow in one way or another. We all have argued or gotten upset with one another at ome point, but we always make up and move on. We have suported each other through various circumstances, and it is just an amazing group to be a part of. I have grown very close to quite a few of them, and I cannot wait to see us become even better this upcoming season. I love my guard family, and I would not trade them for anything else!
