The team struggles to keep its newfound family together as they try to unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true percentage in the outer reaches of the galaxy in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.” “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” will be in theaters near you on May 5, 2017. Of the 10 movies that will be coming out in Phase three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” will be arriving third, following both “Captain America: Civil War” and “Doctor Strange.” It is the first movie to come out as part of Marvel Studios’ first calendar year with three blockbusters. The deep space story will kick things off for the year.

This new film will have a whole new soundtrack. “Marvel has announced the much- anticipated soundtrack for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,’ and it looks like James Gunn and the Guardians crew have outdone themselves, with a impressive and eclectic set list that truly earns the name “Awesome Mix,” said Beth Elderkin. The new film will have more rock music, especially from the 1970s, and several of the songs aren’t really well known Beth Elderkin also said. There’s a reason for that. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Gunn said many of the songs are personal favorites from his childhood, including ‘Lake Shore Drive’ by Aliotta Haynes Jeremiah, while others were obscure ones suggested by fans (like Silver’s only hit song). Gunn said most of the songs were selected to serve specific scenes or characters, for example, he added “My Sweet Lord” by George Harrison to relate to Star-Lord’s father’s, ego.

More of the songs on the soundtrack are: 1) “Mr. Blue Sky” by Electric Light Orchestra, 2) “Fox On The Run” by Sweet, 3) “Lake Shore Drive” by Aliotta Haynes Jeremiah, 4) “The Chain” by Fleetwood Mac, 5) “Bring it on Home to Me” by Sam Cooke,  6) “Southern Nights” by Glen Campbell, 7) “My Sweet Lord” by George Harrison, 8) “Brandy (You’re A Fine Girl)” by Looking Glass, 9) “Come a Little Bit Closer” by Jay and the Americans, 10) “Wham Bam Shang-A-Lang” by Cheap Trick, 11) “Father and Son” by Cat Stevens, 12) “Flash Light” by Parliament, and lastly 13) “Guardians Inferno” by The Sheepers feat. David Hasselhoff. There are a lot of new things coming to “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” and I’m sure everyone is dying to see it. It’s going to be a great one.
