HHS CHOIR OVER GEORGIA

Katie Lee, Staff Writer

On Saturday, May 6 the Heritage High’s concert and chamber choir will be traveling to Atlanta for a choral competition. This is the first big field trip the chorus has done since Mrs.Hamilton started teaching here at Heritage. The concert choir will be singing two songs at the competition that they have been working on all year and the chamber choir will be singing two songs as well. The concert choir will be singing “Praise to the Lord the Almighty” and “Soon Ah Will Be Done” and the chamber choir will be singing “I’m Gonna Sing till the Spirit Moves In My Heart” and “Silver Swan.” These are the same songs that both groups sang when they went to LGPEs two months ago, and they revived superior ratings on all the songs, so they expect to do well and hopefully come out on top with first place in this competition. After the competition the choir will be traveling to Six Flags Over Georgia, where they will stay all day with the other choirs who attended the competition, and the awards ceremony will be held there that night. The choir will be leaving heritage at 5:45 in the morning and they are scheduled to return at 10:45 that night, so it is an all day trip. Everyone in the choir is very excited for the event and for the most part they are not even nervous because they know they will do very well because of all the practice and I mean, they are generals after all!
