Heritage High School is back in the state playoffs with softball. It’s no surprise that our team has returned to the state diamond, since it has turned into an annual event now. This year, almost all of our fall sports are headed for the playoffs: volleyball is rocking the playoffs, and softball is running over all of their competition this season. Just about every game they have had becomes a renowned victory with the team crushing the opposing team with every swing of the bat and every pitch thrown. This most recent game was against Cedartown High School, and we crushed them in both games. In the first game, we had Bates in the circle, and she led us to a 6-1 victory. Our team had the momentum and the determination going into game two, and we did not give them any room to breathe or let them get their guard up. With Gibson in the circle, we did not allow a single Cedartown player to cross the home plate. The team kept their errors to a minimum and kept their cool regardless of it being a state game. The second game was an outstanding victory at 10-0. While Cedartown kept our scoring down in the first game, we were way too much to handle in the second game.
