On January 3rd, the world shifted drastically for fans of the hit Freeform show “The Foster”” when it was announced that the show would be coming to an end. After 5 seasons together, America’s favorite family will be saying goodbye with a three-part series finale that is sure to rip viewers’ hearts out in summer of 2018. But fear not “Fosters”  fans: hope is not lost. While “The Fosters” will be ending, not all of the Fosters will be leaving. Freeform will be introducing a spinoff series featuring everyone’s favorite dynamic duo, Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) and Callie (Maia Mitchell). The faithful production team of “The Fosters” is hard at work preparing the next step in the sisters’ journey into young adulthood. Though nothing is confirmed yet, it is rumored that Callie and Mariana may be joined by at least one other young member of the cast, and fans are going crazy with theories. Some hold out hope for a reunion of the beloved couple that is “Brallie” (Brandon and Callie). Others hope to see Mariana’s twin brother, Jesus, along for the ride. Both seem highly unlikely, in this fan’s humble opinion, but the writers seem to love throwing the impossible at us, so who knows? Few things are certain in the world of “The Fosters,” but the things that are: heartbreak and surprise. So set your DVR, get the tissues and ice cream ready, and say farewell (sort of) to The Fosters.
