It’s that time of year again where the track team congratulates its seniors and has its senior night. For those who do not know what senior night is, it is an event dedicated to the seniors on the team that every team does on their last home game of the season. The track team really makes it special though because as soon as the meet starts, all of the seniors come out with their families and each senior tells everyone what events they usually do, what their records for their events are, what their favorite memory while on the team is, and what plans they have for the future. After that the seniors get to pick an event that they always wanted to try but never did and compete in it for that meet. It is a very fun night and it is always amusing to see people do events that they never do like seeing a skinny distance person try out one of the throwing events or bulky thrower compete in a sprinting event. The senior class on the team this year is rather small, but all of them are extraordinary athletes and deserve to be given the spotlight. All of them have worked very hard to be some of the best at their events and they all show great leadership and are always willing to help their fellow teammate. Senior night will take place  Thursday, March 22 and I, along with the other seniors on the team are very excited and we hope that many people can attend to cheer us on during our special night.
