A MUCH BETTER DRIVER

To be honest, I didn’t really know that I needed glasses until about a month ago, but now that I have them, they make almost everything so much easier for me. I can see better in the classes that I have, I’m a much better driver, and I’m definitely squinting a lot less than I had been. My problem with my eyes is that I can see things that are close to me fairly well, but in the distance, everything appears much blurrier. Luckily, I don’t have any major problems, but I still need extra help to see things. Sometimes the glasses can get in my way; I have to clean them, avoid breaking them by dramatically dropping/throwing them, and they make me look a little more like a librarian (okay—a lot more). They still help me so much, which is strange to me considering I was hardly aware of how much I was struggling to see before it was brought to my attention. The greatest improvement I’ve seen is in my driving. My blind spots are bigger because of the sides, but before, I couldn’t see two traffic lights ahead of me or tell where I should be turning. It’s not good to admit, but I’m definitely a much worse driver when I don’t have my new glasses on. Even though it may not seem like it, I promise I never hit anything, by the way, and now I have to worry about it a lot less.
