Alabama started their season in the top ranking. They won the SEC championship against Georgia, making it their twenty-sixth SEC championship win. They started their 2018 season on September 1st. They played Louisville and beat them 51-14.

Their victory against Louisville began twelve minutes into the first quarter when Jerry Jeudy caught an eleven yard pass from Tua Tagovailoa for a touchdown. Wanting a goal at nine yards from the endzone, Tua Tagovailoa decided to run the ball for a nine yard touchdown. With nine seconds left in the second quarter, Alabama was placed at the Louisville twenty-five yard line. They were on their third down, but Tagovailoa passes to Jeudy for a touchdown. The score going into halftime was 28-0 Alabama. Five minutes into the third quarter, Josh Jacobs scores. On first down, he ran the ball from Louisville twenty-seven yard line to Louisville 18 yard line. On the second down, he ran the ball 18 yards bringing in another touchdown. Josh Jacobs had a seventy-seven yard return, making the score 41-7. With thirty-nine seconds left in the third quarter, Austin Jones kicked a thirty-nine yard field goal. This brought the score to 44-7. Louisville player Jawon Pass threw an interception to Alabama player Shyheim Carter. Carter ran the ball forty-five yards for a touchdown.

Louisville got their first touchdown six and a half minutes into the third quarter. Jawon Pass had a complete pass to Kemari Averett at the Alabama twelve yard line. Pass had another complete pass to Averett to bring in their final touchdown. Both teams played great, but it’s no surprise that Alabama brought home the victory.
