SWIMMING TOWARDS GREATNESS

The Girls Swim Team travelled to Dalton on Saturday, January 19th to compete in their penultimate meet of the season, placing second overall in the GHSA Regional Championship and representing the school well. Senior Saulye Nichols scored a total of twenty points and earned the top spot in both the 200 yard medley relay and the 200 free relay, as well as second place in the 500 free. Hannah Smith scored fourteen, placing first in the 200 medley relay, 200 free, and 400 free, with second place in the 200 free relay. Junior Emma Connelly came out with nine points and first place in the 200 yard medley relay and 400 free relay. Abby Dodd also placed first in the 400 free relay. Sophomore Emma Bradford scoringing a whopping nineteen points, first place in 200 medley and second in the 100 breaststroke and 200 free. Swimmer and junior at Heritage, Emily Smith, spoke on the meet, stating “My relay team and I cut our medley relay fourteen seconds and our 200 freestyle relay time by four seconds. I believe the team did amazing! We put so much more effort into making sure we made our coach proud, as well as ourselves proud. It helped us learn the value of depending on each other and putting past drama aside to work as a team.” The final meet is scheduled for Monday, January 29th.
