After losing 10 seniors, Coach Beagles had quite the task on his hands. The HHS Boys Baseball team started with a tough task at hand: many people had to step up and be true leaders. The record shows that they have done pretty well. Pete Padgett was asked how he thought the team has done all together. He said, “I think the team has done well so far. We had a rough beginning, but we came together and kept working hard, and I think we will continue to grow throughout the season.” The baseball team did amazing in Region play with an overall record of 10-5 with 3 more region games this coming weekend in Lafayette. Their record in the regular season was 13-10. However, with a few games left in the season, that is likely to change. Coach Beagles said, “I’m very happy with the performance of the team this year. We had many sophomores step up and fulfill the roles we needed and had Aaron Colquitt in the heart of the lineup. Aaron really stepped it up this year.” All in all, the boys have had a very successful season and despite the odds stacked against them they prevailed and have had a great season so far.
