During the holidays everyone celebrates in their own unique ways. Some people spend it at home with their families or some people go on a vacation to somewhere really nice to celebrate the holidays. There are different traditions all across the world that states do to celebrate Christmas day. For example, a very well-known tradition is to give gifts to friends or family on Christmas day. If you’re lucky, you may even get to open just one on Christmas Eve. 

Another major tradition is Christmas dinner. In my opinion, it’s a lot like Thanksgiving because you spend it with your family and are eating to celebrate something. People make loads of sweet treats during the holidays. Christmas cookies, eggnog, and hot chocolate are always an extremely big deal during December because it gets everyone in the Christmas mood and just makes everyone feel nice and cozy during the frosty season. Another fun tradition that families normally do are Christmas cards. It gives the family something to do and I’d say it’s a very interesting and fun to see the outcome of a Christmas card. You could even do one with your friends just for the joke of it. 

Christmas songs have always been a tradition to get yourself in the Christmas spirit. Some favorites are “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey, “Drummer Boy” and “Mistletoe” by Justin Bieber are very popular songs that you’ve most likely listened to. Of course there are also classics from back in the day such as “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” by Brenda Lee and “Rudolph The Rednosed Reindeer” by Gene Autry. 

Lastly, but definitely not least, is the tradition of having a Christmas tree. Christmas trees are most likely the most popular tradition that people do during the month. You can have anything from a real tree to a fake one that can come in any color that you’d love to have. People always decorate their trees with decorations, such as, ornaments, garlind, and even icicles which are very shiny and bright. But if you have a tree you can’t forget to put an angel or a star on the very top to represent faith in Christmas. They would represent how the wise men followed the star that had stopped above the manger where Jesus was born.
