Dinna Spradlin is one of our newest faculty members for the 2023-2024 school year. Over the course of the past thirty-five years, twenty of those years were spent teaching. The fifteen years she wasn’t teaching, she was a stay at home mom raising her kids. Over the course of her career, Mrs. Spradlin states, “[I worked] twelve years at Dalton High, seven years at Dalton State College, and one year at Lafayette.” Of all the schools she has taught at, and all of the years she spent teaching, she has only taught math. Mrs. Spradlin says that she applied here at Heritage because “it’s closer to home…this school has a great reputation in the community, the teachers love it here.” She includes, “The kids I’ve talked to love it here…the reputation from the teachers and students here is just top notch.” While she has been here, the school has lived up to her expectations from the reputation. She explains, “The kids seem to love it here, they seem very responsible [and] there’s a lot of freedom.” Mrs. Spradlin goes on to describe the obedience and good behavior of the students here at Heritage. She remarks, “[My favorite thing about working here is] the friendliness. It comes from the teachers, principals, students, parents, and everybody I’ve talked to. You don’t feel intimidated, you don’t feel like [you] don’t belong here. A lot of times when you go to a new place, you might not feel like you fit in. It’s just so friendly, so you feel like you fit in with everybody.” Mrs. Spradlin is excited to be here to teach, and the students are just as excited to be taught by such a caring teacher.
