Brady Chandler is a senior at Heritage High School, as well as a candidate in the Emperor Race. When he first figured out that he was voted to be a candidate, he found it very inspiring that people chose him. He’s excited to be involved in the race for Emperor, he is very passionate about this race because he enjoys raising money for the school. For example, Brady had the idea to invite a Kona Ice Truck to the school. Although Brady has many other ideas, he stated, “I’m not in the clear to win the race, there are many other candidates, like Max Owens, that have really good ideas and may very well win the race.” But what makes Brady stand out from his fellow emperor candidates, he strongly believes in his campaign. He thinks he can raise good money, and hopefully win with his compassion and his teacher sponsor Mrs. Lones. “I chose Mrs. Lones because she’s really inspiring, and I’ve known her for a long time. She’s always helped me, and I knew she’d work hard to help me.”

Aside from Homecoming, he’s involved in various team sports and is very passionate about them. For example, he’s the starting quarterback for the Heritage Generals football team. He plays football because he thinks it will help him be a better leader, especially since he is the starting quarterback. In addition to football, he’s also played baseball and basketball since he was young. On the other hand, people may know him for his football abilities. Brady claims baseball is his favorite sport, he plays the 3rd base position. When Brady doesn’t want to get people out in baseball, he enjoys shooting hoops for our school’s basketball team.  When playing basketball he plays either guard position, (shooting guard, or point guard.) Adding to his sports abilities, at the moment he has two scholarships from Georgetown and Chattanooga State. “My scholarships are around %50 for Georgetown, and almost a full-ride scholarship for Chatt. State. Both are for baseball, so that’s really cool.”

Brady says that when people think of him, they may not know that he has triplet siblings. “The part that people really may not know, is that that most of my siblings attend Ringgold, besides my sister and me.” Brady is focused on being the best to his family and committing time and effort into hopefully winning the Homecoming Emperor Race.

Ian Grant
Ian Grant, Staff Writer
Ian Grant is a 14-year-old freshman at Heritage High School. Ian is very ambitious and loves the fact that he’s part of working on "The Legacy." Ian loves to spend time with his family and friends outside of school. He enjoys hiking, playing golf, and getting attacked by his cat, Survivor. He’s very passionate about sports: he especially loves the Atlanta Falcons a lot. He’s always watching practices, preseason games, and everything related to the team. In basketball, he strongly supports the Golden State Warriors. Even though no one in his family likes basketball, he still tunes into every game he can. The freshman also keeps up with every update on team moves and essential things he needs to know. In baseball, he enjoys supporting The New York Yankees. Although he’s just recently started caring about baseball, he likes the Yankees because of the history, the players, and most of all the uniforms. Outside of the sports realm, in school Ian likes to claim himself good at Language Arts but very bad at math. A nickname he came up for himself is “The King of Random Questions." For entertainment, Ian loves "The Office," along with the "Star Wars" trilogy. He strongly supports the fact that the sequels are better than the originals and the fact that Anakin Skywalker is the best character, not Darth Vader. Ian is always thinking about his future and what’s waiting for him. Also, no matter what happens, the Lord is always with you.
