Spencer Cordle, Staff Writer
Spencer Cordle is a returning Journalism staff member and a sophomore at Heritage High School. He is excited to enter the new year and see what this school year has to offer. Journalism is one of his favorite classes and led to the discovery of new passions such as photography and journalistic honesty. When he isn’t at school or in his room, he usually spends quality time with his loved ones and friends, whether at one of their houses or somewhere out in town. Outside of his work in Journalism, he is also interested in various forms of art, like painting and photography, as well as music, cooking, true crime, and reading. Spencer enjoys bands and artists from all genres, but some of the highlights include Radiohead, She Wants Revenge, The Cure, The Smiths, and Mitski. He also enjoys watching commentary videos from creators such as Film Cooper, Kurtis Conner, and Danny Gonzalez. Spencer aspires to be either a graphic designer, or a photographer, and is optimistic that his time at HHS will help him shape his future.
Thomas Scherzer, Staff Writer
Thomas Scherzer is a sophomore this year at Heritage High School. Thomas Scherzer involves himself in many activities both inside and outside of school. Thomas always tries to make sure he betters himself on whatever he is doing and becomes a better person. Thomas Scherzer enjoys playing soccer and reading, but throughout all of his free time he usually is working out. He really likes going to the gym. Over the summer, Thomas worked as a lifeguard at the local amusement park's water park at Lake Winnie. He likes school--but only when it is in a class he likes. Thomas likes English, Science, and Social Studies, but hates Math. He currently plans on going to college but is unsure of what he wants to pursue. Despite this, the future's still bright to Thomas and his dedication to what he puts his mind to will help. Although he doesn’t know what he wants to do, he is very passionate about anything he wishes to. During his year, he wants to contribute to playing sports. He is very excited for the year in Journalism and to see what will happen.
Alyx Quist, Entertainment Editor
At 16-years-old, Alyx is a co-editor of the Heritage High School newspaper. They have been in Journalism since their freshman year. Now, as a junior, it is their third year in Journalism. They joined Journalism late in their freshman year, and have loved it ever since. Alyx strives to do their best in school, and they hope to learn as much as they can throughout their high school experience. Their favorite things to do include reading, writing, listening to music, and hanging out with friends. Alyx only has a few close friends and cherishes each of them dearly. When they read, they prefer to read YA novels, their favorite being "Legend" by Marie Lu. Alyx loves to read a good rom-com to pass time. A few of their favorite music artists are Chappell Roan, Olivia Rodgrigo, and System of a Down, even though they usually only listen to Chappell. At home, they have three cats and five dogs. They hope to graduate from Heritage and plan to go to a college here in Georgia, though they still don’t yet know what to major in. Alyx is excited to make new friends in Journalism, and can’t wait to start working on the "General Journal!"
