This year, our new STAR, Student Teacher Achievement Recognition, Students were Isaac Kim and Anderson Sasada. They had the highest SAT score out of the seniors at Heritage. They both tied with a score of 1430. Sasada and Kim worked very hard for this achievement and have been amazing students since they arrived at Heritage. Both students picked their STAR Teacher, which is a teacher they feel helped them the most and led them to success.
According to people that know him, Sasada is a very smart, determined, and efficient worker. He chose Dr. Kevin Trobaugh as his STAR Teacher, explaining that he has always been someone to rely on. “Dr. Trobaugh has consistently been the teacher I go to for help and advice, regardless of what I need,” Sasada said. “I only had one class with him, but his impact on me has been everlasting.” Over the four years that they’ve known each other, they’ve grown an advisory-like bond, both in and out of the classroom. “Anderson was the kind of student that could get it done. He was always attentive, present, and engaged,” Dr. Trobaugh stated.

Our second STAR Student had a similar reputation of always working hard, and giving his one hundred percent. His STAR Teacher is Mrs. Dana Wilson, who he always loved having as a teacher. Kim took two of her classes, Honors Biology and AP Biology, which he excelled in. Their connection and Kim’s proactive learning style led to his success in her classes. His willingness to help other people and his kindness also contributed to his relationships with his classmates and Mrs. Wilson. “Isaac is an amazing student and a very self sufficient learner,” Wilson stated. “I’m very honored to be his STAR Teacher.”
Isaac Kim and Anderson Sasada worked very hard for this title and both practiced for the SAT multiple times. We are very proud of them, and they will go on to do great things in their future. Amazing job, STAR Students!
