Brynlie Weber, a freshman at Heritage High School, is feeling better than ever after her first semester at HHS.
“It’s been easy-ish because I normally have the times memorized. I still have to find my classes, but it’s been easy-ish.” Weber said about her new classes after Christmas break.
Afterward, Weber talked about how different high school is from middle school, and whether or not the block scheduling felt “rushed” compared to the year-round scheduling of the middle school. “A little bit? I think it depended on the teacher, ‘cause last semester, some of my teachers talked a lot, and some of them talked very little… some [classes] felt very slow.”
Currently, Weber’s favorite class is Algebra I with Shoelen, and in her free time, Weber is a gymnast.
Along with a fresh schedule, Weber’s getting a fresh start coming back to gymnastics after a hairline spinal fracture put her on pause for 6 months. Now, Weber attends practices each Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evening.

Weber and her best friend, Hope Alsobrooks, have known each other since sixth grade, where they met and instantly connected during a vending machine run.
Alsobrooks agrees with Weber’s view about High School, saying that “it’s easier” when compared to middle school. They both find the atmosphere very nice and enjoy the environment.
Earlier in Weber’s interview, she described herself in three words. Her response was “loud, chaotic, and honest.” This was only confirmed by Alsobrooks’s comment. “It’s not like an annoying loud, it’s like, where she’s funny loud… she’s brutally honest,” Alsobrooks agreed.
It’s clear that these girls know each other very well and have a bright future ahead of them. It’s safe to say that Weber is set for her second semester at Heritage, and she can’t wait to see what it has in store for her.
