Eileen Lin, a senior student at Heritage High School and a part of the graduating class of 2026, is a memorable classmate in Journalism this semester. Finding her place among the many attending and creating, and showing her bright colors with her remarkable writing skills that define her quiet yet creative personality that deserves recognition.
Aside from her involvement in Journalism, Lin reflects her years at Heritage High School with an ongoing streak of high grades and the ability to succeed in both academic and elective classes. Her favorite academic class is history.
“History class is really fun, and it’s easier to learn. Junior year, U.S. History was my favorite. Mr. Wolfe teaches his class really fun. During junior year, my English wasn’t very good, so he got me a translator, which helped me; I also got all A’s in History starting from freshman year. I like to know what’s happened in the past,” said Lin.

Lin prefers not to participate in any extracurricular activities within Heritage High School outside of her academic schedule, but uses her time outside of HHS bonding with her friends and playing Volleyball. She has many fond memories with them, like with her younger sister, sophomore Evelyn Lin,
“We used to fight, but now we’re chill. We treat each other like best friends. Last year, she grew up; she became more mature and more focused on work, not just being funny and silly,” she said, which helped the two of them get closer.
Ultimately, Lin notes that her personally favorite activity outside of school hours is sleeping, as she enjoys being able to destress and relax after the extended day. In the future, Lin aspires to work as a nurse, caring for others and making strides in health science.
“I don’t really know what kind of nurse,” she said. “I want to go to UNC. It’s one of the top schools for nursing.”
Henshi Patel, a notable friend of Lin and a fellow Senior at HHS, described her as “kind, a bit introverted, but incredibly smart.”
Moreover, Patel is able to recount friendly memories with Lin, describing the times she would be “spending time with her when [they had] the ability to do so, and [helping] each other with homework.” And recounted being able to talk with each other quite easily when they occasionally have had the opportunity to share classes with each other, which unfortunately wasn’t often.
Lin is a profound, bright student with a high grade point average and a love for her academic classes.
