The Winter X Games are back after an anxious year of waiting. They are set in Aspen for the seventh year starting January 25th and ending the 28th. Big names such as Kelly Clark (with 7 gold medals), Marcus Kleveland, and Canada’s very own Sebastien Toutant will be returning alongside the underdogs that include: Japan’s famous Ayumu Hirano, new comer Birk Ruud, and the young skier Maggie Voisin. The Winter X Games are not just filled with talented sports stars, but also an all-star musical line up of LCD Soundsystem, Marshmello, Martin Garrix, and Method & Redman. The Winter X Games should make history with the most talented line-up to date this year.
The X Games will start with men’s slopestyle qualifying round and change quickly to the special olympics unified snowboarding. After that, the wonderful women’s ski superpipe, followed by snowmobile speed and style and men’s ski superpipe. The second day is packed with the biggest names in winter sports with women’s snowboard slopestyle, snowmobile freestyle, and men’s ski slopestyle qualifying and snowboarding big air. History is bound to be made and records broken on the third day, for the anticipated women’s ski slopestyle, snowboard big air, and snowboard superpipe, men’s snowboard slopestyle, and snow bike cross following. The games end with women’s ski big air, men’s ski slopestyle and snowboard superpipe, and finishing with snow bike best trick. This should be a record shattering year for the X Games and extremely entertaining to watch.
