From teen heartthrob to psychopathic murderer, Zac Efron takes on a more serious and dark role in “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile,” a new movie chronicling the life of infamous serial killer, Ted Bundy. The movie will be produced by Oscar-nominated documentary filmmaker Joe Berlinger (“Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory”). Michael Werwie (“Lost Girls”) is the writer of the script for the project, which is told through the eyes of Elizabeth Kloepfer (Lily Collins), Bundy’s longtime girlfriend. As in the true story, Elizabeth goes years denying the accusations against Bundy but eventually turns him into the police. No one seems to suspect Bundy until he begins to talk about his extensive and gruesome crimes with a disturbing sense of pride and accomplishment. Along with Efron, Angela Sarafyan (“Westworld”) stars as Joanna, a close friend to Bundy’s girlfriend, Elizabeth. Joanna acts as a support system for Elizabeth and is the reason she starts to finally question Bundy’s intentions. Aboard the team as well is John Malkovich (“Con Air”) playing Edward Cowart, the judge who presided over Bundy’s 1979 trial that resulted in a death sentence. According to producers of Voltage PIctures and COTA Entertainment, production began on January 10th. Voltage’s hot project paints Bundy as a portrait of evil yet still  seems to make him utterly charming and normal. Although the release date for public audiences is still to be announced, producers are sure to reel you in to the tragic and chilling life of Ted Bundy.
