When people hear catfish they probably think of the fish, however fans of MTV’s hit series would disagree with this definition. A catfish is someone who pretends to be someone they’re not by hiding behind a screen online. They use pictures of someone else and create fake personalities to lure their victims in. “Catfish: The TV Show”  is based on the popular documentary of the same name, which was released shortly before it was made into a TV series. The hit reality show is hosted by Nev Schulman, a victim of catfishing, who used his experience to help others by creating “Catfish” and “Catfish: The TV Show.” Nev’s best friend Max Joseph also hosts the show. Nev and Max help catfish victims meet their online love face‒to‒face and reveal their true identities and intentions. The show has been running since 2012 and is now airing its 7th season. The latest season is said to have “twice the twists.” Nev and Max are ready to untangle the deepest and darkest web of lies the series has ever encountered. The new season was aired on January 3, but it is not even close to done. The episodes that are yet to come will take you on a thrilling mystery ride. According to Nev and Max, each episode in the new series will “double expose” each person in the relationship, which will reveal shocking facts and so much deceit. The ultimate goal of the show is to put the catfish to a stop so they can’t hurt anyone else. But as some episodes of “Catfish” reveal, there are always catfishes that will never stop catfishing. Once Nev and Max get you “hooked,” there is no turning back.
